2012 will be a very exciting year for The Creative Cake Academy with lots of new designs and projects under way. The Creative Cake Academy has a really modern approach to cake design and decoration. Our aim is to design the best dressed cakes and cupcakes in town and to teach the skills required to students in workshops, small groups and one to one's.

We train a wide range of cupcake designs as these little beauties are still highly sought after and are perfect for Gifts, Parties and Celebrations and of course Weddings. Our cupcake decoration classes currently include Flower Garden, Creative Cupcakes, Vintage, Cath Kidston Style, Wedding with features that include embossing, hand painting, lace, pearls, moulds and lots of other techniques that build in each workshop to create a portfolio of skills and beautiful designs. On a full day Cupcake design workshop you will create a tray of 12 beautifully crafted cupcakes with full support, and you will leave with a new range of skills and full workshop notes, that will enable you to be confident in creating your own future designs. The group cupcakes workshops are run from the Farncombe Estate, Broadway venue. A superb purpose built training centre with ultra-modern facilities. Our private, one to one and small group workshops, offer the training if you would love to learn more about cake decoration, including wedding, tiered and celebration cakes, in addition to all of our cupcakes workshops and designs. These workshops can be tailor made to your needs including many elements from designing, covering with marzipan, ganache and sugarpaste, creating sugar flowers, modelling, writing in royal icing, and many more design elements to creating an individual tray of stunning cupcakes. 2012 will see lots of new things happening, with a release of new design workshops, and the long awaited release of the Distance Learning Workshops, created for students who love our work but live outside the UK and cannot attend our classes. VINTAGE CHRISTMAS CUPCAKES - STUDENT'S WORK

A full house again for our Vintage Christmas Cupcakes workshop, held at Farncombe Estate, Broadway on Sunday 4th December. All 12 students created a beautiful box of Dinner Party Style Christmas cupcakes which featured a number of techniques including stencilling, embossing, sugar flowers, moulded snowflakes and even creating a pretty mini sitting on top of a quilt embossed pearl cupcake. We only have one more workshop at Farncombe left this year, which is Traditional Christmas cupcakes, but this workshop is fully booked. We do have a full diary of planned workshops at Farncombe for 2012, so please check our the booking pages from the link at the head of the blog page.

Over Christmas we are designing and planning new workshops to include Wedding Design, Cupcake Bouquet, Buttons and Bows, Vintage Lace and lots more - so keep checking for details.

VINTAGE CHRISTMAS CUPCAKES

This coming Sunday we will be completing the above tray of Vintage Christmas Cupcakes with a full house of students at our Farncombe Estate venue in Broadway, Worcestershire. The tray of 12 cupcakes is designed to grace the Dining Table as special desserts for friends and family at Christmas. As the workshop is full, we plan to release a Distance Workshop Tutorial for this tray in early December.

FLOWER GARDEN CUPCAKE COURSE

Your last chance this year to get onto the Flower Garden Cupcake course, which is to be held at the Farncombe Estate venue, in Broadway, Worcestershire on Sunday the 13th November. The cupcake class will provide you with 12 freshly baked cupcakes and teach you how to complete them in the one day workshop to create the above tray. Detailed notes will accompany the workshop, so you will have lots of information to take away to remind you of the creation of each flower and each individual cupcake.

You do not need to bring any cake decoration tools with you, everything is provided, just bring yourself and an apron. The course costs £90 for the full day and includes lashings of tea/coffee and home made biscuits with a 3 course Sunday lunch - how's that for a bargain. When these cupcakes were first designed and went on FLIKR, the interest was manic, and many websites shared the photograph as a very firm favourite. BRILLIANT RESULTS FROM THE 'CATH KIDSTON STYLE' CUPCAKE WORKSHOP

Well it was a super hot day on Sunday 2nd October as the students gathered to enjoy the 'Cath Kidston Style' Cupcake Decoration Workshop - it may be hot - but that certainly did not stop them creating the most fantastic box of 12 cupcakes in pretty pastel pink, cornflower blue, mint and lemon, with gorgeous rolled roses on the top. CATH KIDSTON STYLE CUPCAKE CLASS - SUNDAY 2ND OCTOBER

We have a few spaces still available on our Creative Cupcakes - Cath Kidston style workshop this coming Sunday 2nd October at Farncombe Estate, Broadway, Worcestershire - a beautiful setting with excellent modern facilities set in acres of gorgeous Cotswold countryside. The course starts at 9.30am and runs until 4.30pm with a 3 course Sunday lunch. If you are travelling to the venue from far afield, you can stop over the night before in the 4star luxury on-site accommodation and enjoy a full English Breakfast on Sunday morning before the course starts.

NEW DISTANCE/ON-LINE CUPCAKE CLASS - MAKES ME SO PROUD!!!!

Some of you may be aware that The Creative Cake Academy is currently working on having available in the near future Distance Workshops for each of the cupcake classes that we run face to face. The workshops are designed predominantly for people outside the UK who cannot get to our classes in The Cotswolds and who have expressed a keen interest in learning how to decorate cupcakes in the style of The Creative Cake Academy, not wishing to miss out because of the distance. At the moment I have several students undergoing the Creative Cupcakes workshop, from as far afield as New Zealand, USA, Italy, Scandinavia and other European locations, and today I received an e-mail that made me so proud. Rachel from New Zealand, one of my first distant students sent me an e-mail with a photograph attached (pictured above) of her Creative Cupcakes - wow, she did amazing.

It is very early days with regard to the general release of the Distance Workshop packs, as I want to make sure that we have everything right before they become fully available - so the excellent feedback I am getting from the original students is so valuable. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in the Distance Workshops when they are released, just drop me an e-mail and you will be kept informed.

ANOTHER FANTASTIC VINTAGE CUPCAKES WORKSHOP

A full house on Sunday 18th September at our Vintage Cupcakes workshop held at Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds. Everyone worked really hard and enjoyed a full day, and created the box of 12 Vintage Cupcakes as shown in the tray above - they never believed at the start of the day they would be able to achieve them - but they most certainly did. The workshop included learning new skills including, embossing, stencilling, hand painting, creating pearls and lots more. CHRISTMAS CUPCAKES IN SEPTEMBER!!!!!!

It does seem so strange to be designing and creating a set of Traditional Christmas Cupcakes at the beginning of September - but that is exactly what I have been doing over the last couple of days. The Creative Cake Academy will be running several Christmas Cupcake workshops during November and December at the Farncombe Estate venue in Broadway, Worcestershire - so if you are looking for something new and different to put on the table this Christmas, then this is the place to come.

There are two different Christmas Cupcake Classes, Traditional Cupcakes for Christmas, with Santa, Snowmen, Baubles and Holly - to the opposite end of the scale with Vintage Christmas Cupcakes, featuring Pearls, Jewels, and Christmas Roses in beautiful shades of ice blue and pearl white. The images for Vintage Christmas cupcakes will be available in the next week or so.

CREATIVE CUPCAKES - VINTAGE WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER 18TH

Our next workshop will be held at the beautiful Farncombe Estate in Broadway, Worcestershire on the 18th September. On the workshop we will be covering quite a number of skills in cupcake decoration feature the beautiful handmade pearls, sugar roses, hand-painting and stencilling - this will really build upon the skills already acquired on the Creative Cupcakes workshop, but feel free to join us if you have not attended the initial workshops as full tutorials are given right the way through the day.

The Farncombe Estate is a purpose built training centre with excellent facilities, overnight 4 star accommodation is available on site, and an excellent restaurant. The course costs £90 for the day which includes hot drinks throughout the day with freshly baked biscuits and fresh cream scones with afternoon tea and a very welcome 3 course Sunday lunch - excellent value for money. Each student takes home their tray of 12 decorated cupcakes and full course notes to remind them of the techniques tutored on the day.

ROSE GARDEN CUPCAKE WRAPPERS

These are a new range of Cupcake Wrappers called Rose Garden. They are in a pdf digital download format and come in a set of 3 wrappers, matching tags and a sheet of pretty matching spotty paper to print on the reverse of the wrappers. The beauty of Cupcake Wrappers that are digital is that you can print as many off that you want, whenever you like, so you never have to keep paying for the wraps over and over again. ANOTHER FANTASTIC CREATIVE CUPCAKES WORKSHOP

We had another brilliant day at the Creative Cupcakes workshop on Sunday 28th August, with a full house and plenty of really beautiful tray of cupcakes prepared by the end of the day. I always say to all students at the start of the day - 'They look great - but you cannot eat them!!!!!' - to the amazement of everyone. Of course you can eat them - everything tastes good and is fully edible, but you will be so proud of your creations you will just want them to sit on some pretty plate or cupcake stand for everyone to admire but dare not eat. Everyone was quite adament that they would definitely be eating theirs and sharing them out with family and friends - but it was quite a different story by the end of the day. They were so proud of what they had created, not believing it possible from the show tray of cupcakes they viewed at the start of the day, that it was clear many were not going to get eaten - but for all the right reasons!!!

CREATIVE CUPCAKE CLASS - WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY

Well I know people thought it could not be achieved, but all the students who attended the Creative Cupcake Class on the 14th August at the wonderful venue at Farncombe Estate, really did a great job - everyone went home with their beautifully decorated tray of 12 cupcakes, a complete 18 page pack of course and follow up notes, and hopefully well fed in the process. Probably a good thing as all of the students were very 'precious' about their creations, quite rightly so, as they really were stunning and managed to create the full set of the Lilac and Purple Creative Cupcakes box of 12. I wonder if any of them will get eaten, they all felt they were far too beautiful to touch. The venue at Farncombe Estate was outstanding. Set in acres of countryside, the purpose built modern training venue gave us a beautiful room with views over rolling countryside, a purpose built kitchen attached, a seperate coffee lounge with lashings of hot drinks all day, biscuits and fresh cream scones, and a 3 course Sunday lunch!!!! There certainly was not any room left for any of the cupcakes. You can see from the image above the wonderful amount of space we had, with 3 different workstations in the room, the area for cupcake assemby and the flower making, another area for demonstrations, and a third workstation for completion of the buttercream piping.

The Creative Cake Academy use the Farncombe Estate as one of their training venues and we have a wide range of cupcake classes available for the rest of 2011 and 2012.

Here are the workshops currently available for the rest of this year (please note they are all Sunday classes so ideal for those with families and want a weekend workshop, or people not wanting to book a day off work to attend):

28th August - Creative Cupcakes: This course teaches the creation of the perfect cupcake from scratch, covering baking, buttercream, roses and swirls, embossing, sugar flower making, use of Sugarpaste, Florist Paste and Modelling Paste - a really great start to creating a stunning set of the 12 Lilac and Purple tray. This course is an absolute 'must' for learning how to create a beautiful tray of cupcakes right from scratch. This course is also repeated on:
2nd October and 20th November.

18th September - Vintage Cupcakes - this tray take Cupcakes to the next level, with detailed embossing, painting, raised stencilling, pearls, roses and other flowers, to create a very pretty set of cupcakes, very much in vogue at the moment. This course is also repeated on:
4th December.

13th November - Flower Garden Cupcakes - this tray of cupcakes is so popular, it has turned up on many blogs and websites and is a hot favourite on Flickr. You really can create our tray of Flower Garden Cupcakes on the workshop - this is a very popular course, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

27th November - Creative Christmas Cupcakes - We will be designing a really special box of Christmas cupcakes for this workshop, traditional in colour but very modern in design - photographs to be posted in the near future. This course is repeated on:
11th December.

4th December - Vintage Cupcakes for Christmas - Are you tired of the traditional Christmas Cupcake, do you want to make a set for Christmas in a true vintage style in pastel shaded with pearls, snowflakes and gorgeous bows? - then this is the class for you. Photographs to be posted in the near future.

Our 'Creative Cupcakes' workshop on Sunday 14th August has been sold out - but we have decided to add 2 more places - so please move quickly if you wish to join us for the one day workshop creating the lovely Lilac and Purple set. You will create and take away the above tray of cupcakes. The day costs £90 and includes refreshments throughout the day and a 3 course Sunday lunch. All you need is to bring yourself and an apron. Above is a taster of the elements that we will be covering on the Vintage Cupcake workshop at the Farncombe Estate training centre, Broadway. On the one day workshop you will create a tray of 12 beautiful vintage cupcakes to take home and be extremely proud of. I am pleased to announce new cupcake workshops are being run by The Creative Cake Academy at the magnificent training centre at Farncombe Estate, Broadway, in the Cotswolds.

They are offering a really special all inclusive price for the one day cupcake workshops - for just £90 you will enjoy a full day's training, a three course lunch, and you go home with a gorgeous tray of 12 cupcakes that you will have decorated on the day.

Over the coming months there will be a number of courses, the first one being Creative Cupcakes, which is designed to give an overview of some of the basics of cupcake decoration, but still producting a stunning tray of cakes that you will be very proud to take home and show off.
